Comparison Sport Mental Power and Body Image according to Perception Fitness for College Students

Abstract
INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this study was to compare sport mental power and body image according to perception fitness for college students.

METHOD: Total 272 students were participated on division of sports, design, enginening, etc. for variety perception fitness(male, 22.5¡¾2.7yrs, 175.2¡¾4.6cm, 70.1¡¾7.7kg; female, 20.9¡¾1.8yrs, 162.2¡¾9.8cm, 52.7¡¾6.7kg). Sport mental power were measured by questionnaire of Kim(2002), and body image were measured by quetionnaire of Cho et al.(2002). Two-way ANOVA with repeated measure, oneway repeated ANOVA and independent t-test were applied to compare sport mental power and body image according to perception fitness.

RESULT: There were significant difference between male and female, among perception fitness on 2 area of sport mental power 4 area, and significant difference among perception fitness for female only, and significant difference between male and female on low and intermediate level. There were significant difference between male and female, among perception fitness on 3 area of body image 6 area. Both health fitness and height complain were increased according to perception fitness, and body decoration were increased according to perception fitness on male.

CONCLUSION: Sport mental power of male on 2 area of 4 area were higher than that of female, and increased according to perception fitness, and sport mental power of male were higher than that of female on low and intermediate level. Body image of male were higher than that of female on 2~3 area of body image 6 area, and body image were increased according to perception fitness. On future studies, the difference of sport metal power and body image according to variety fitness were analyzed, and the reason and effects of this study were analyzed.
